11 Bollywood Stars Who Flopped Despite Several Attempts in Movies

Bollywood keeps churning out an increasing number of movies every year. The upside is that it ushers in new talent but on the other hand, some actors are unable to cope up with the competition and ultimately fade away into nothingness.

Here are some of these stars who are flop:

1- Tusshar Kapoor

Despite being from a strong Bollywood family, he could never carve a niche for himself, in the industry. Although he has tried all the genres, action (Khakee), romance (Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai), villainous (Shootout at Lokhandwala), and comic (Kya kool hai hum), nothing has suited him well. He lacks that x-factor, in him. Tusshar is only appreciated in the Golmaal series, for his goofy antics, probably because he doesn’t have any dialogue in the film.

While Tusshar believes that the bad scripts for flops should be blamed, we think that bad actors could be the better reason, too. He has given us nothing but flops over the years and he still doesn’t seem to stop. All that because he was the son of Jitendra and his sister was Ekta Kapoor.

2- Jackky Bhagnani

Son of producer Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky tried his luck in Bollywood with ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’ in 2009 but the 2011 moderate success ‘F.A.L.T.U’ was his only shining moment. More recently we saw him in films like ‘Youngistaan’ and ‘Welcome to Karachi’ – none of which seemed to click with movie-goers anywhere.

3- Abhishek Bachchan

Well, being the son of a megastar like Amitabh Bachchan surely comes with a lot of expectations. And Abhishek has surely delivered what was expected of him. Junior Bachchan is among those actors who are sadly underrated. His performances have been phenomenal. For instance, take the example of Mani Ratnam’s directorial Guru, in which Abhishek portrayed the character of Gurukant Desai. The role was quite challenging and required a strong persona. But we are thankful to Abhishek as he portrayed the character with utmost dedication. As expected his performance was perfect in the film and he garnered many praises from the critics. In fact, his performance in other films such as such as Yuva, Sarkar, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna was also applauded by the critics.

4- Himesh Reshammiya

Once he had taken the music industry by storm, he decided to give acting a try. While many criticized his performance in Aap Ka Suroor, it went on to become one of the biggest hit amongst the masses that year. He appeared in several other films after that but never really succeeded as an actor. But Himesh is not ready to take no for an answer, he is repeatedly trying to relaunch himself as the hero but the audiences are just refusing to watch his movies.

5- Hansika Motwani

A child actor to start with, Motwani’s entry into Bollywood as a leading lady in ‘Aap Kaa Surroor’ (2007) took many by surprise. Now an established actress in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Motwani is doing super well for herself.

A young starter, Motwani broke into the acting business way back when she was kid. Serials like ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’ and ‘Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand’ got her attention as a young star. She even appeared in ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’ with Hrithik Roshan in 2003. While she took on a few more Hindi projects, it wasn’t long before she migrated more permanently to the south. And the odds of us seeing her in a Hindi film may be questionable.

6- Uday Chopra

After a few unimpressive performances, it was obvious that the audience didn’t quite take to Yash Chopra’s son as well as his famed khandaan had probably hoped.

After having worked as an assistant director for a long time, Junior Chopra, one would think, should have had as easy a ride into Bollywood as it gets. But between his debut in ‘Mohabbatein’ (2000) and his last appearance in ‘Dhoom 3’ (2013), we only saw him in a handful of films and regretfully not many of them were worth remembering. Sadly we find his presence even in the Dhoom franchise quite intolerable.

7- Imran Khan

While the audience give him thumbs up for his 2007 entry film, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na,’ and others,  like ‘Delhi Belly(2011),’ ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011),’ his struggle started with the film ‘Luck(2009)’ and never really changed. Got a chance in the industry because of his ‘mamujan’ (Aamir Khan), he did possess the Khan charm, in his looks, but his immature acting could not help him to cement his place in Bollywood. With the spate of flop films,’ Kidnap,'(2008),  ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu,’ (2012), ‘Break Ke Baad’ (2010) and ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ (2013),  ‘Gori Tere Pyar Mei’ (2013) and ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ (2013), Imran Khan has faded out.

8- Ameesha Patel

Her debut performance in the movie Kaho Nas Pyar Hai opposite Hrithik Roshan received critical appreciation as well as mass appeal from the viewers. Her role in Gadar:Ek Prem Katha also gave her lot of fame. Her list of successful movies are very few and she failed to sustain her success in B town. With many ups and downs in her career, Ameesha struggled to keep up with the recognition and was eventually forgotten by her fans.

9- Bipasha Basu

Despite being considered successful, Bipasha Basu has failed to make her career. Bips has worked in almost more than 50 films among which many were a huge success. But her recent choice of movies had brought her to the bottom. While she still considered being among the 50 most desirable women, but her acting career seems to be drowning. She need to buckle up in order to save her career.

10- Nargis Fakhri

This NRI model from America came to India and began her acting career with the movie ‘ Rockstar’ for which she received the best debut Filmfare award nomination. Nargis also received rave reviews for her outstanding acting in the political thriller “Madras Cafe.” This actress has everything in her looks, from a good height to a good figure, but all these factors could hardly help her maintain a foothold in the industry. She did appear in the successful comedies like Main Tera Hero, “Housefull 3” and with the talented actor like Emraan Hashmi in ‘ Azhar’ but that was like the end of getting mainstream roles. Nargis is mostly spotted in item songs these days and she is not considered an A-lister in the tinsel town.

11- Dia Mirza

She is a well-known face in the pageant world who became the winner of the Miss Asia Pacific 2000. Dia is an Indian actress, model, and producer and her most notable work was in the movie “Rehna Hai Tere Dil Main.” This actress is drop-dead gorgeous and has a good sense of style and fashion. However, her acting career due to some unknown reasons did not take off as expected and she slowly faded away from limelight. Presently, she is the brand ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission and is an active social worker who is involved in various social programmes.
