His video starts as “Toh kaise hai aap log?” and then what follows makes you laugh so hard that you would literally fall off your chair. Yes, we are talking about CarryMinati, popularly known as the roast king. The famous Indian YouTuber roasts songs and other stuff.

He recently grabbed headlines for posting a controversial video in which he roasted a popular TikToker, Amir Siddiqui, who had first made a video on how YouTubers are copying their content. Carry’s video garnered over 70 million views. However, YouTube pulled down the objectionable video titled ‘YouTube vs TikTok- The End’ for violating its policy on harassment and bullying.

But, CarryMinati also received a lot of support from his fans. Here are some interesting facts about the 20-year-old YouTuber.

1- Born on June 12, 1999 at Faridabad, Haryana, Carry Minati’s real name is Ajey Nager.

2- He lives with his parents and an elder brother, Yash Nagar who is a guitarist and electronic music producer.

3- Carry did his schooling from DPS Faridabad. Like many, he was never interested in studies and spent most of his time playing video games.

4- Carry began his YouTube channel at the age of 10.

5- In his first YouTube video, Carry explained the features of Windows 7.

6- He uploaded the video on his channel named Stealthfearzz. After uploading that video, Carry felt he should do something with YouTube only.

7- Carry then went to make tutorials on Football. But his channel went unnoticed as there were already many popular tutorial channels on YouTube.

8-  On October 30, 2014, Ajey at the age of 15 started his new gaming channel, Addicted A1 on YouTube, where he used to play counter-strike and backed it up with game commentary in the mimic voice of Sunny Deol and Hrithik Roshan.

9- Within a few months he made 150+ videos on the gameplay of counter strike. As the game was not that popular in India, only a few of his fans used to watch the videos because of his funny commentary. Carry understood this and then rebranded the channel’s name to Carry Deol.

10- Ajey started roasting along with the gameplay and picked up small artists at first. His channel was inspired by the American YouTube channel Leafy Is Here.

11- Ajey was the first Indian YouTuber to start roasting. Later he changed his channel’s name to Carry Minati.

12- CarryMinati’s “ROASTING BB KI VINES” video was the first one to cross 100k views. And since then he never looked back!

13- His family supported him on his decision to drop his studies. He later completed his studies via an open school.

14- On August 10, 2016, his videos received 3 copyright strikes and thus his channel was banned from YouTube. After a few mails to the copyright claim by Bhim Niroula, his copyright strikes were removed and thus his channel was reinstated. Later he roasted people only after taking their permission.

15- The people Carry roasted in his videos became celebrities in their own space. For instance, he made Dhinchak Pooja, Om Prakash Mishra, Deepak Kalaal and Hero Alom popular with his roasting videos.

16- Though Carry never revealed his personal life, but it was rumored that he was having some late nights chats with Pardesi Girl after he roasted her and she made a reaction video.
