There are many players in contemporary international cricket who don’t represent the nation of their birth, and because of various reasons are instead playing for another country. Over the years, there have been many high-profile players who were born in India but represented another country in international cricket. Similarly, there were many cricketers who represented team India but were not born in India.

1- Robin Singh
Born in the Princes Town in the city of Trinidad and Tobago, cricketer Robin Singh played 136 ODI matches, however, his debut test match turned out to be his last one.
2- Salim Durani
Former Indian all-rounder Salim Durani was born on 11 December 1934 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He played 29 Tests for India between 1960-1973, in which he scored 1202 runs and a century. Besides this, he also took 75 wickets.
3- Khokhan Sen
Former wicketkeeper-batsman Khokhan Sen, known as Probir Kumar Sen was born in Bangladesh. He represented team India in 14 Tests between 1948-1952, and scored only 165 runs.
4- Lal Singh
Malaysia born, Lal Singh played only one Test match against England in 1932, where he scored 44 runs. However, after this match, the right-handed batsman never got the opportunity to represent Team India.
5- Ashok Gandotra
Indian batsman Ashok Gandotra was born in Brazil. He played only 2 tests for team India in the year 1969, during which he scored 54 runs. Besides this, he has played 54 first-class matches for Bengal and for Delhi during 1974-75.
