5 Hollywood Movies That Surprised Indians By Playing Bollywood Songs

Bollywood songs can make anyone get up and dance. When the whole world can groove to the desi tunes, Hollywood is no different. Let’s have a look at 5 such Hollywood movies that used Bollywood movie songs and stunned the audience completely.

1- Deadpool (2016) – Mera Joota Hai Japani

The Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds featured the phenomenally popular song Mera Joota Hain Japani from Raj Kapoor-Nargis starrer Shree 420. When ‘Deadpool’ enters Bhipender’s taxi, ‘Mera joota hai Japani’ plays on the radio. We love Deadpool, this is just another reason to.

2- Inside Man (2006) – Chaiyya Chaiyya

The Denzel Washington-Clive Owen-Jodie Foster starrer featured the very popular song Chaiyya Chaiyya from the Shah Rukh Khan-Manisha Koirala movie Dil Se. The song plays right after Nicholas Cage says his dialogue before the opening credits for Inside Man. ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ plays and we genuinely wanted to get up and dance.

Very often people who watch the movie on their televisions these days feel something’s wrong with their device because of how randomly the song begins to play.

3- Shaun of the Dead (2004) – Lehron Ki Tarah Yaadein

We all love Shaun of the Dead with the brilliant Simon Pegg as the lead character living in a post-apocalyptic world flooded with the undead.

Kishore Kumar’s Lehron Ki Tarha Yaadein plays in the background as Shaun, played by Simon Pegg walks in to a departmental store just as the zombie outbreak begins. Don’t miss the Hindi announcement in the radio about the outbreak!

4- The Dictator (2011) – Mundiya Tu Bachke Rahi

The Sacha Baron Cohen starrer is considered to be one of the most controversial movies to have ever been made. The movie was replete with some hilarious, some offensive, some racist and other over-the-top gags. The film had it all!

And when the film’s trailers came out, it also had a remixed version of ‘Mundeya tu bach ke rahi’ featuring Jay-Z and Punjabi MC.

5- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (2017) – Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba

Guardians of the Galaxy movies have always been well received, well at least by the MCU fans. They have also introduced some of the most well-known alien characters from the comic books.

In the trailer released by IndiaMarvel, we can hear playing the 1980’s hit song Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba in the background. While this experiment received mixed reactions from the fans, the film did exceedingly well in India and it is safe to say that the marketing stunt paid off.

As they say, music knows no boundaries!
