7 Bollywood Stars Who Got Golden Ticket To Bollywood After Working in TV Serials of Ekta Kapoor

The famous Indian television producer Ekta Kapoor is the godmother of telly town and she has been the main woman behind the success of many TV stars. The queen of Indian TV shows has been ruling the throne for over two decades now. She has launched some of the big celebrities of Bollywood who started their career with her TV serials and then there was no turning back!

The producer launched some of the top actors, under Balaji Telefilms banner. Here is a list of all the TV celebrities who joined Bollywood after Ekta Kapoor gave them a ticket to her television serials.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput made his TV debut in 2008 with a supporting role in Ekta Kapoor’s Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. Soon he got his first break as a lead in Ekta Kapoor’s Pavitra Rishta and this serial made him a favorite of every household overnight. It was the popularity of this serial that later on, he got an easy break-in film. Sushant made his Bollywood debut with the film Kai Po Che and was even nominated for a Filmfare award for Best Male Debut.

Karan Singh Grover

He made his TV debut in 2004 with Ekta Kapoor’s Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi. After this he became a major teenage icon with the serial Dill Mill Gayye. After being a part of the small screen for a long time, the actor decided to try his luck in Bollywood. He started with two back to back movies, Alone and Hate Story 3. The actor was praised for his performance in the latter.

Ronit Roy

Ekta Kapoor’s serial Kasautii Zindagii Ki became a ray of hope in the life of Ronit Roy, lost in the darkness of oblivion for many years even after getting success on the big screen. After this serial, Ronit’s career came back on track and he became one of the famous actors in the TV industry. His impressive performance in the role landed him another spot on Ekta Kapoor show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Mihir Varani. In 2010, Ronit starred in a critically-acclaimed film Udaan and since then he has been a part of many films.

Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai, was the lead heroine of Kasamh Se paired opposite the much older Ram Kapoor. After getting success from this serial, Ekta Kapoor also launched Prachi in the movie, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai opposite Emraan Hashmi and after that she has appeared in many films.

Ankita Lokhande

Ankita became a household name when she started working in Ekta Kapoor’s romantic drama series, Pavitra Rishta. The show sent Ankita on a meteoric rise to fame. After acting in a bunch of TV serials, the actress made her Bollywood debut in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Surveen Chawla

Surveen made her TV debut with the show, Kahin To Hoga. In 2004, she appeared in Kasauti Zindagi Kay and after that she got more offers. After her stint in the television industry, she debuted on the big screen in a Kannada film, Paramesha Panwala. The actress made her Bollywood debut by playing a side character in Hum Tum Shabana in 2011. Following this, she starred in different films across various industries in India.

Pulkit Samrat

Pulkit made her TV debut with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in 2006 but quit the show after one year. Later, in 2013 he got his kick start into Bollywood with the romantic comedy, Bittoo Boss. The actor also notably starred in the teenage comedy Fukkrey. He has acted in many films since his debut and has bid adieu to his TV career.

Looking at all these names, it can be said that Ekta Kapoor proves to be a lucky mascot for the strugglers.
