Recently, after the clash between India and China , Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, UC Browser, Shein and others via Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology . This has caused a disturbance online.
Post that, Anand Mahindra got engaged in a war of words with the Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese state-run media, Global Times.
Hu Xijin, the Global Times editor, took to Twitter to respond to the ban placed by the Indian government on Chinese apps.The tweet reads : “Well, even if Chinese people want to boycott Indian products, they can’t really find many Indian goods. Indian friends, you need to have some things that are more important than nationalism,”

As soon as the Mahindra chairperson saw the tweet , he was quick to respond to Xijin by ‘thanking’ him for the provocation. Assuring the Global Times editor that India Inc will rise to the occasion, Mahindra said, “I suspect this comment might well be the most effective & motivating rallying cry that India Inc. has ever received.”
