Rapper Badshah was recently accused of plagiarism for his latest music video, Genda Phool featuring Jacqueline Fernandez. Badshah’s Genda Phool is a recreation of the Bengali song Baro Loker Beti Lo, which is originally written by Ratan Kahar. Social media users slammed Badshah for not giving credit to the original writer of the song.
Seeing this, Badshah quickly reached out to Ratan Kahar and reportedly deposited ₹5 lakh in Ratan’s account, which was confirmed by the latter himself.
Kahar had said, “Yes, my son has confirmed Rs 5 lakh from Badshah has entered my bank account. But money is not everything, I am happy as he has credited me as the composer of the lyrics “Baro Loker Beti Lo” which he had weaved in his music video ‘Genda Phool’. I want to leave behind any controversy.”
Though the plagiarism row gained huge attention but the rectification of the mistake didn’t made much headlines, which didn’t go well with the rapper.
On Tuesday, he took to his Instagram story and hit back people who trolled him. Slamming trolls, Badshah wrote, “People wanna f**k you over a small mistake, but nobody gives a f**k once its rectified.”
In another story, he added: “Kal tak tha main sabko pyara, aaj chor ban gaya. Gana hit par kuch logon ke liye shor ban gaya.”
