Senior news anchor Neelum Sharma, who was associated with India’s public service broadcaster Doordarshan News for over 20 years, passed away on Saturday. The journalist was reportedly battling cancer. She started her career with Doordarshan in 1995. She was known for her programmes like ‘Tejaswini’ and ‘Badi Charcha’. Condolences poured in from all quarters soon after Sharma’s demise.
The prince of comedy; Jatin Kanakia was famous for his comic timings. He was the part of the most watchable show of 90s Shrimaan Shrimati. Kanakia’s career was cut short in 18 July 1999 when he died from pancreatic cancer.
Rasika Joshi who had acted in several of his hit television serials and movies such as Bhool Bhulaiya, Malamal Weekly and Dhol died in 2011 due to Leukemia. She was 38-year-old.
Television actress Pratyusha Banerjee who is popularly known for her character as Anandi from ‘Balika Vadhu’ committed suicide on April 1st, 2016. The actress took her own life by hanging herself at her home. Pratyusha had become ‘extremely depressed’ over her relationship with boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.
Abir was in his 30s, was in good health and was busy working out when he suffered a heart attack. He was seen in popular TV serials like Kkusum and Pyaar Ka Dard Hai.He died on 31 May 2013.
