December is here and it’s time for yearly round-ups. We finally get to decide the best and worst in each category and recognize them for work well done (or not)! Bollywood is no exception to this rule. Every year Bollywood releases a multitude of movies, some so moving that they leave a lasting impact on us and some so bad that we feel the need to ask for a refund of the money and time wasted.
Here are the top 10 worst Bollywood movies of 2019 according to IMDb.
IMDb Rating: 3.6
Karan Johar’s magnum opus, with its stellar cast, really failed to deliver what it had promised the audience. The movie was a visual treat that had nothing else to offer. The dialogues, the emotional conflict of the leads and the whole situation just felt like a bit too much. Not KJo’s best effort, tbh!
2- Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas
IMDb Rating: 4.6
Another proof of the fact that good-looking actors can do nothing for a movie without a script. While the lead actors did do justice to the roles they were cast in, the whole trope of rich girl- poor boy has been done to death.
3- Total Dhamaal
IMDb Rating: 4.3
The movie has the same premise as the first one – a group of greedy people racing to find a hidden treasure. What the two movies, however, do not share is the humour factor. While the first one was fresh and filled with clean humour, this time the jokes just did not get you. Also, were fine actors like Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor paid to overact? We think so!
4- Student of The Year 2
IMDb Rating: 2.5
The more you watch the movie, the more you’re convinced that the director Punit Malhotra was inspired by Archie, the comic book series, without being able to capture any of its magic. The setting of the college is unrealistic, I mean come on, where in the world do you find students as flexible as Tiger Shroff or those who wear clothes like Ananya Panday or Tara Sutaria? Nowhere! No award for this one despite the fact that the whole movie was about a trophy!
5- Housefull 4
IMDb Rating: 3.4
This confusing movie is a story of three brothers in love with three sisters before realizing that they’re all reincarnations from 600 years ago and are with the wrong partners. I mean, what? I’ve lost the plot right here! The movie has no script to boast of, the acting was sub-par and the jokes were just not funny.
IMDb Rating: 2.4
This action thriller dwells into the underworld and revolves around the story of a stunt driver after he develops feelings for his neighbour.
7- Jabariya Jodi
IMDb Rating: 4.2
Jabariya Jodi featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti revolves around the tradition of groom kidnapping in Bihar but later marries them off but, his priorities change when he meets his childhood sweetheart Babli.
IMDb Rating: 6.8
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the Hindi film is a romantic story about a former army officer, Kabir, who teaches at his father’s school and finds a notebook left behind by the previous year’s teacher, Firdaus.
9- Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga
IMDb Rating: 5.5
This romantic drama is a queer story written by Gazal Dhaliwal, a transwoman and Apurva Asrani, who is openly gay. The story revolves around two women in love with each other.
IMDb Rating: 2.8
There’s only one thing we can say, rather ask – why? What was the point of the movie? Also, with all due respect, you can’t expect a movie where Anil Kapoor’s character is called ‘WiFi Bhai’ to not be on the list!
