Indian Govt will Bear all Your Travel Costs if You Explore these 15 Tourist Destinations in a Year

Is ‘travel more’ is one of your goals for 2020? But can’t afford to go on a vacation. Think again, peeps! Coz the government is ready to reward the travel buff inside you for exploring the country and its rich heritage. Yes, you read that right.

The Tourism Ministry of India will fund the travel expenses of tourists who visit 15 destinations in the country in a year.

This comes under the ‘Paryatan Parv’, an initiative of the Union Government, which was spoken about by Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel at the concluding ceremony of the two-day National Tourism Conference in Odisha’s Konark.

“This should not be construed as a monetary benefit but as an incentive. We should honour these persons as brand ambassadors of Indian Tourism,” said Mr. Patel.

But nothing comes free, right? This incentive program also has some prerequisites.

The person travelling needs to go out of his/her own state to be rewarded for their trip. And not just that, you will have to submit your photos from all the 15 places you visit to government’s official tourism website.

During the same National Tourism Conference, the Union Minister also mentioned that the Sun Temple at Konark will be included in the list of the country’s ‘iconic sites’.

Coming to the stellar initiative, Mr. Patel further assured that a special event will be organised in order to announce the commencement of this plan.

Rupinder Brar, Additional Director General of Tourism declared that “The ministry has been organizing certificate programs for candidates intending to work as tourist guides. But, the participation of Odisha in this program is very low and it needs to be enhanced. The state government should encourage students to take part in the certificate course.”

Well, I’m already planning a nationwide trip for 2021. Aren’t you?
