Mika Singh made headlines after a video of him performing live at the wedding festivities of Pervez Musharraf’s relative in Karachi went viral a few days ago. The singer received a lot of flak on social media for his gig in Pakistan, especially at a time when tension between the two countries is at its peak because of the removal of Article 370.
If Jumme Ki Raat singer was trolled on Twitter, All India Cine Workers Association, too, has banned Mika Singh’s association with the film production houses, music companies and online music content providers.
Releasing a statement on Tuesday (August 13), AICWA revealed that they have put a blanket ban on Mika Singh. AICWA President Suresh Gupta added that he will make sure that Mika Singh doesn’t get to work with anyone in India as he has “put money above the nation.”
It was on August 8 that Mika Singh performed at the wedding festivities of the daughter of former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf’s billionaire cousin. Reportedly, the singer charged USD 150,000 (Rs 1 crore) for his performance at the wedding.
Two days after Mika Singh was banned by All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) following his performance at a wedding in Pakistan, the singer returned to India chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. Mika Singh took to Twitter to display his deshbhakti as he shared a video of him shouting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ at Wagah Border.
Posting the video, he wrote, “Bharat Mata ki Jai! Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. Happy Independence Day once again and salute to our jawans. They aren’t able to celebrate any festival, all to make our lives better. Jai hind.”
With Mika being slammed by netizens and banned by AICWA, the singer is now doing everything possible to prove his patriotism. And his new video is proof of it.
As soon as the video of Mika performing in Pakistan went viral, he invited the wrath of many on social media.
