Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy not only received immense love from the audience, but also won hearts of critics. The Zoya Akhtar directorial also gave us a gem of an actor in Siddhant Chaturvedi. The film was also India’s official entry to the Academy Awards 2020, although it got out of the race mid-way. Now, the film has found a fan in cricketer Jonty Rhodes.
Jonty, who was traveling to India, watched the full film while on flight, and loved it! He later took to Twitter to share the feels. “Been listening to the #GullyBoy soundtrack ever since meeting @SiddhantChturvD last year at an event, finally got to watch the entire movie on my @emirates to India last night. Thanks to subtitles, I laughed; cried and had goosebumps @RanveerOfficial @aliaa08 @kalkikanmani,” his tweet read.
In another tweet, he wrote, “Spent a couple of days a few years back at #covelongpoint surf music yoga festival in the unassuming presence of @kalkikanmani and would never have imagined she was such an onscreen talent #realpeople v #reelpeople”
Siddhant’s happiness knew no bounds after receiving such a great respone from the legendary cricketer. The elated young actor replied, “Oh yes!! I am glad you enjoyed it, sir.”
Gully Boy’s story revolves around Murad(Ranveer), an underdog, struggles to convey his views on social issues and life in Dharavi through rapping. His life changes drastically when he meets a local rapper, Shrikant alias MC Sher (Siddhant).
