Single Woman Throws Herself Wedding-Themed Party As She Wants A Wedding, But Not A Husband

When you’re single and your Facebook feed is filled with nothing but engagement updates, it’s hard not to think ‘when will it be my turn?’
‘That one thing’ every woman dreams about the most is her wedding. From costumes to decoration theme to food, they would have everything planned even before the groom is finalized. They would also double check if their preferences go in line with the groom’s choices. But what if a woman do not want to get married to a man, but still wants to enjoy a wedding party?

In a bizarre but funny incident, a 36-year-old woman named Michelle from Sussex threw herself a wedding-themed birthday party because she wanted a wedding and not a husband.

While many were baffled that she was ‘marrying herself’, Michele claims it was done to celebrate that she is content on her own and show she doesn’t need a partner to be happy.

After years of watching her friends and family settling down, Michele realised she only enjoyed weddings for the dresses and party, so she decided just to enjoy the things she loves.

“What’s better than to be surrounded by all my friends and family in a huge polyester gown? And I don’t even have to go home and live with a man for the rest of my life,” she was quoted as saying.

A month before, she dragged a few of her friends to a local charity shop, where she discovered a treasure trove of bridal attire.

Michelle got herself a white gown, made a Facebook event titled ‘Mitchelle’s Wedding’ and invited a bunch of her friends and relatives. She told the guests to wear white outfits as well.

“The message behind this is that I’m independent and strong. I’ve tried to teach my daughter that she doesn’t need a partner if she doesn’t want one,” she was further quoted as saying.

Despite a few concerns, her guests loved the day and even her daughter loved it.
