The Power Department in Uttar Pradesh has given a stinging stun to an old inhabitant of Hapur locale. Shamim, a septuagenarian, has gotten a power bill for Rs 1,28,45,95,444 and his capacity burden is just 2 KiloWatt. Shamim, who remains with his better half in Chamri town in Hapur, said that he has moved toward the Electricity Department to correct the blunder, however was advised by authorities to pay the bill or else the power won’t be reconnected.
“Nobody tunes in to our supplications, in what manner will we present that sum? When we went to gripe about it, we were informed that they won’t continue our power supply except if we pay the bill,” he said. Shamim told reports that his month to month power bill is around Rs 700 and Rs 800. “However, this time, the Electricity Department has given me the bill of the whole city,” he said.

In a followup tweet, ANI informed that Ram Sharan, an Assistant Electrical Engineer expressed that the reason behind the colossal bill “must be a specialized issue.”
Ram Sharan, Assistant Electrical Engineer: This must be a technical fault. If they provide us the bill we will issue them an updated one after rectifying the technical fault in the system. This is no big deal. Technical faults do take place. (20.07.2019) pic.twitter.com/4TUswbvVDu— ANI UP (@ANINewsUP) July 20, 2019
Senior authorities of the Power Department in Lucknow said that they didn’t know about the issue and henceforth, couldn’t remark. At the point when told about the issue, they said it could be a specialized glitch and would be corrected. Till at that point, Shamim and his family will live in obscurity.

Mistakes happen, technical fault happens; agree! Where is the 200 gm brain ? of a person who issued such a bill. How can they disconnect for nonpayment? What if these poor guys don’t have the previous bill?— Anwar Hussain (@Anwar_is_here) July 21, 2019
